This week I'd like you to jazz up your blog. As many of you have begun to surmise, blogs are websites, but without some of the bells and whistles you see on some sites. At the same time, those bells and whistles are not out of reach. One of your primary goals this week is to accessorize your blog with additional text, a poll, a blog list, a link list and a list. On the same page that you post, there is a Layout tab. Under that, you may add gadgets. Within the gadget window that opens are several options, many of which I have asked you to complete. Most of the tasks are self-explanatory, but let me add a note or two. When it comes to adding blogs that you are following, you must first determine what sound and interesting writers are out there. I started my search by looking at websites that were of interest to me and then seeing if any of their writers were blogging on a regular basis. Then, once I found a blogger or two I liked, I looked at their blogrolls and floated around finding blog after blog and cool site after cool site. For example, I like to read the NY times. I went there, found some bloggers, added them to my blogroll and then followed their trails. The same can be said for how I found websites that I wanted regular updates from.
